The system principle
“The database records what should be true. The intelligence layer shows where action is needed.”
One source of truth. Two connected business systems. A clearer next decision.
03 / Sandbox · Business systems
One connected operating system—from supplier program submission to accountable field action.
Read the story01 / The idea
The Chain Database and Chain Intelligence Portal turn a complicated operating process into one controlled information flow.
The secure database gives supplier partners a guided way to submit programs, approved products, locations, and supporting documentation. Internal teams receive structured queues for review, approval, returned changes, expiration, and master-data export.
The intelligence portal gives that operating model a useful destination. The Chain Placement Program protects approved placements through weekly execution priorities. Flex Intelligence identifies demonstrated non-program success and connects managers with the people and locations behind it.
Spreadsheets still have a place for controlled import, export, and field use. The difference is that they now sit inside a defined system instead of becoming the system themselves.
The system principle
“The database records what should be true. The intelligence layer shows where action is needed.”
One source of truth. Two connected business systems. A clearer next decision.
The operating model
Make the right information move with the work.
Supplier requirements become controlled records. Controlled records become execution priorities. Field outcomes become shared learning. Each step has an owner, a source, and a reason to exist.
02 / The connected system
The project separates each job clearly without separating the information.
Partners get a focused submission experience. Internal teams get a controlled repository and review process. Managers and leaders get the intelligence views that support execution, coaching, and replication.
A five-step supplier workflow for program information, approved items, locations, documentation, and final review—with drafts and template uploads built in.
Role-based views for approvals, returns, expirations, suppliers, programs, locations, approved items, and the master program export.
Weekly CPP execution, monthly Flex Intelligence, executive analysis, manager review views, and the working resources behind each decision.
03 / The product
The interface changes with the responsibility—not with the underlying truth.
The internal dashboard concentrates the full repository and its review queues. The supplier flow removes that complexity and asks only for what is required at each step. Both experiences share the same dark operational visual system and high-visibility amber actions.
04 / The build
The technology follows the job each surface needs to do.
The secure database experience is built in Astro with role-aware supplier and internal portals, passwordless email-code access, guided forms, and controlled spreadsheet import and export. The intelligence layer is a lightweight static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript portal designed for fast navigation, printable operating guidance, and direct access to working files. Both are deployed on Vercel.
The public case study intentionally excludes private program data, login details, supplier contacts, and production records.
05 / The future
The destination is a closed operating loop, not a larger library of reports.
The next phase is to deepen the connection between controlled program data, current account activity, manager decisions, and the field learning that follows. Each improvement should remove ambiguity or shorten the distance between evidence and action.
Bring every active program, approved item, location, document, review state, and expiration into one governed repository.
Use controlled records and current activity to produce clearer CPP priorities while routing uncertain records back to review.
Use Flex Intelligence and manager conversations to make proven placements repeatable across comparable chain locations.
